when two trees fall in love
do they tie the knot in wood
with outstretched limbs and gentle breeze
they playfully tickle each others knees
but their time in the earth is not for long
for soon loggers will come along
and lop off their arms and heads
the two lovers no longer in their beds
alas they don’t go off to a better place
where love once was, and empty space
