June 2016 Open Reading Review

For June we were at a new venue.  Near Tsukiguchi Station in the library of a ‘share house’.  It was pouring outside.

Very happy on the good turnout and variety of works presented adding various flavors to our creative plate.  Happy to have Joe join us after many years but also sad to lose Isabelle who will be moving to new adventures in Vietnam.

Albert Sussler ( USA )

~ “What they say about Trump” ~
He has a tenacity to sprinkle lies so heavily that truth loses all taste.

~ “Dog Whistle ~
Scream,”Their taking your freedom”, and then watch as the American goes into shock.

~ “Riverlands” ~
It will be dangerous, some never return, but trust in the three forces of nature and they will stay by you, bringing you there and back with the great sea turtle.

Bertram Mullin ( USA )

~ “Unexpected” ~
Why is it taking you so long for you to die fatty, she said as she pointed her camera phone at him.

Shoichi Miyamura ( Japan )

~ “Two under the tree” ~ a poem from ‘Chieko’ by Kohtaroh Takamura ~
I burn quietly holding your hand…

Stephen Dunn ( UK )

~ “Levels” ~
The person sleeping in the bed was not her mother, it was a man.

Joe Sichi ( USA )

~ “Unglued” ~
You are going to get better and we are going to walk right out of here.

Coming up:

August 21st: Sunday
Open Reading: from 3:00 ~ 5:00P.M.
Location: Space Sakura, Shin-Sakae

Map to the venue: Please click here.
(It is on the northeastern corner of the block facing a bigger street, next to “Haruru” Cafe.)

Help to spread the word.
