September 2016 Open Reading Review

Triple feature day for the Nagoya Writes.

In the early afternoon. Shoichi, Bam and I presented some of our works at the Aichi
Vision 2016 Music and Arts Festival.  Thanks to Joe Sichi and staff for inviting us,
spreading the word to a wider audience.

Later in the afternoon we were joined by Hidemi and Steve for our Open Reading.

In the evening, we were invited to a Vietnamese dinner party of lemongrass curry.
A day to remember.

Albert Sussler ( USA )

~ “The Refrigerator” ~
The old refrigerator, with the loose of its electric charge, had become … junk,
much like a husband who had been laid off from the factory he had worked for his whole career.

~ “Carelessness” ~
This feeling of being, is entwined with imagination.

~ “Yomnoji-jukugo” ~
Smell senses one’s lifespan.

Stephen Dunn ( UK )

~ “The Final Decision” ~
The endless vigil at old and deserted sites, hoping to see things that never would appear.

Bertram Mullin ( USA )

~ “Bullet to the Brain” by Tobais Wolff ~
In the end it will do its work and leave the troubled skull behind, dragging its comet’s tail
of memory and hope and talent and love into the marble hall of commerce.

~ “Poetry of the Dangerous Classes” ~
15 minutes, that’s why people take pictures of themselves rather than butterflies these days.

Hidemi Ohba ( Japan )

~ “Each Day has a Title” ~
Today I remembered, I will celebrate my anniversary alone at Starbucks with a cake.

~ “The Race grows Sweeter near its Final Love” ~
I could slow down and let him beat him, then be condensing and resentful.

Shoichi Miyamura ( Japan )

~ “Hole in the Wall” ~
I visited there in the dark of the night and it was so cheap but the house shook when
someone walked up the stairs.

~ “Signals” ~
I see signals here and there, is that what they call reality?.
